hi

i am driving a bipolar 2-phase stepper motor with the L6208 with sinusoidal signals (64 steps) at the ref inputs. i need very low motor speed (around 5rpm).

the motor movement is quite good but there are still some jerky movements. sense voltages are ok.

do you know this phenomenon?

Hello,

sorry for the delay in my answer but often I am out of office for several days and it is impossible for me to have access to the web when outside.

Anyhow, it is not easy without looking at your system to give an answer regarding your problem. Try to see the current waveforms in a scope and search for eventual asymetricals on them. You should eliminate them as more as possible. If you prefer, send these pictures to me and I will try to understand the source of poblem.

Best regards,

tanio

here is a picture from the voltage over the sense resistor. the jerky movement is around zero. i can make it a little bit better by adjusting Roff. but then the motor is very noisy...
