I want to use the arithmetic functions of the DSP library to optimize a controller function. Does the involvement of the MAC unit really give an advantage in time.
e.g the normal operation c=a-b where a,b,c are of type int takes 10 instruction cycles
but the use of sub_16(...) of the library uses also 10 instruction cycles (see pdf file)
How can I use the DSP library to optimize a function which uses fix point variables?
