PSD854F2 - Security Bit

Hi,

I have an Infineon C515C and a PSD854F2 with IAP.

I am a little bit confused about the security bit: PSDSoft says:

Setting the security bit will block all access of the contents of the PSD from a JTAG or Conventional programming tool. This means that once the security bit is set, no programmer can read or copy the configuration or memory contents of the PSD. The only way to defeat the security bit is to erase the entire PSD

Do I understand correctly, that when this bit is set, I can still:

- IAP via RS232, but the flash cannot be read out with a JTAG tool

- do a full erase with PSDSoft, which resets this bit.

My confusion comes from p. 28 of the datasheet, which has two different tables, the table describing the security bit being named PSD/EE protection register. I don't have any EEPROM.

Regards, Ralph
