Programming multiple STR71x's on the same PCB

Hi all,

I need to find out if it is possible to program multiple MCU's on the same PCB at the same time. I need to put down 8 x STR711s / STR712s on my board and they will all be doing the exact same thing. Thus the same code needs to be downloaded, and it would be great if I do not need to put down 8 x JTAG boxed headers.

I am using IAR for my development.

Regards,

Gizmo

It is possible to connect your STRs into JTAG daisy-chain and use the tool that can program them chained. Probably, you will need to run the programming procedure for 8 times (with different chain-depending settings), but only one JTAG header. If your IAR doesn't support JTAG chains, look for Elnec's BeeProg+ (http://www.elnec.com/products/device-programmers/beeprogplus/). I have tried two STR711/712 chained and can confirm that it works. If your 8 will not, send me a message 🙂
