In a publicly facing manner you have two documents, The Reference Manual, and The Programming Manual. To a lesser extent you also have the specific part manuals, or data sheets/briefs, but these deal more with physical issues.

If these don't adequately cover the detail, or infer it, you need to assume a couple of things,

a) Details are being purposefully left out about the implementation for reasons of trade secret, or security through obfuscation.

b) The mechanics can be inferred by those sufficiently skilled in the art.

c) More specific/exacting detail is available under NDA to those business partners with whom the supplier wants to share this material/detail.
