sttoolset.exe software unpack problem

Just got a Discovery kit, downloaded the sttoolsset.exe.

Ran the exe, hit the next button on the wiz, the package starts to unpack.

Than an error msg pops up saying the exe is corrupt.

Tried several down loads and two systems, one XP, the other Vista, same error on both.

Any Ideas?

Same problem here.

Interestingly enough, I tried opening it with 7-zip and I was able to extract the 11 first file in the executable (the most important ones) and ran setup.exe. It wanted the ''ST-Licence.pdf'' file (which wasn't extractable) and tried to provide a boggus one, with no success.

Any idea of the problem? I couldn't find a sttools working.

Well I got some time to try again.

I used WinZip 8.1 to extract the files from sttoolset.exe.

It extracted all but the ST-License.pdf.

Either the CAB is not correct or the ST-License.pdf is corrupt.

Incredibly, as of today, ST have still not rectified the corrupted file(s) !

Hello

Doug again.

I tried the sttoolset.exe again still not fixed.

I sent ST an email last week, still no reply.

This is my first time considering ST for a design.

I am a free lance Eng, I design systems for other co's.

I was considering the STM8S for a new design.

The support I have seen so far makes me think ST is a bad choice.

Any thoughts.

Now it seems to work, at least it passes the unpack process.

I ought to try this at home.

Thanks!
