Now... I haven't use stand-by on this chip, so I can't help you with that, but I do have an idea that you might find useful.

Instead of stand-by just lower the clock. With this we've managed to come under 4 mA easily. (Also ~4 mA seems way too high for stand-by?! Other devices, GPIOs?)
