Power Over Internet ( POE)

Not sure my internet is powered, ethernet perhaps?

Generally you want them to be robust and fault tolerant, TI has a host of solutions. Do you need it to be 802.3af/at compliant, or you just want to push power over the cable. There are solutions which just push DC over the unused pairs, and crude implementations pretty much just use a regulator at the peripheral end. If you are using unshielded cables that might also be a concern if you have appreciable current, or RF leaking out.

@AlexDion - In case you don't get  Clive1's hint, the clue is in the name (or, rather, the acronym):

''Power Over

I

nternet (Po

E

)''

PoE stands for Power over Ethernet - not Internet!
