The size limit of the LCD's that attach directly with a DMA type interface, is the availability of enough memory to act as a video buffer.

For large displays you're going need to look for panels with build in controllers, and video memory.

Physical size or resolution?

You are going to have to provide some bounding conditions on pricing and size. Where's you're min/max sweet point?

What's considered cheap for a 42'' panel is probably a lot different than for one that's 2'', 3'' or 4''.

See what people are using on STM32 dev boards, plenty of vendors on eBay, and at least one guy who comes to this forum once a month hawking his wares. See what displays ST is using, get part# and find a vendor to quote equivalent displays.

I tried a 5.7'' TFT glass( without inbuilt controller) QVGA(320 x 240) resolution with STM32F2. It's working fine.

The thing which matters is the resolution. You can also drive a 7'' TFT of QVGA resolution by STM32F2.

Yes the interface is FSMC. The schematic is under development. I tested the prototype using STM32F2 eval board.

The TFT is controller less. It is from ampire. the part no. is AM320240N6T MQWT50H-A(5.7'') .

Jacky Sheng, he posts here every month, at least once, shouldn't have to scroll through more than a couple of pages to find one or more of this posts. I can't speak to his company, pricing or performance, but he's persistent and understands marketing.

Here a post from the second page, which appear to be particularly on point
