I believe the original board only supported V1 which use the MSD SCSI transport layer for communications, where as the V2 uses direct USB end points.

So is it possible to flash a STM32vldiscovery board to support ST-LINK/V2 ?

V2 or V1 they all use the same STM32F103C8T6 device.

I am able to program my original STM32Discovery board (V1 STLINK) using OpenOCD 0.6 on my laptop running Fedora 16.  Although this isn't the question you asked I thought that perhaps if you were able to use the V1 already programmed then that might be sufficient for your needs.
