I'm looking at the SPWF04 training course which is very good by the way, but it mentions I should refer to 'SPWF04S Power management Application Notes' for more details on the Low power modes.

Been unable to find this, anyone got a working link for it or other resources which describe the actual functions of all of the low power variables:

What I'm trying to find out is...

wifi_powersave  (what is the difference between PS and Fast-PS)

wifi_operational_mode (what is the differencwifi_listene between operational mode and quiescent mode)

wifi_beacon_wakeup

(what is the difference from using values 1, 10, 100, 1000? with wifi_listen_interval set to 0 or 1 ?)

Hello all, have found the document, the title is not as in the training notes hence search didn't return it.

What you need is AN4696 'SPWF01Sx power management options'

There is one conflict between this document and the TCP/IP protocol stack notes (both SPWF01 and SPWF04)

AN4696 has the options for the variable wifi_operational_mode as '1' or '2' , while the TCP/IP protocol has then as '0x11' and '0x12' (and the description then shown then as decimal rather then hex just to add to confusion).

Hopefully ST can resolve this on their next revision.
