Hello! I have STEVAL-PCC009V1 and EVAL6470H boards and wondering:

1. What software should I use with STEVAL-PCC009V1?

I tried it on Win-XP, after installing drivers it was recognized as Universal Dongle Demo Board. But after starting dSPIN software from here

http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF258265

and trying to connect a board, the error appeared that I should connect STEVAL-PCC009V2 board.

2. Is there any way to use STEVAL-PCC009V1 board on Win7-64 bit?

Thanks, Sergey.

Hello goncharov,

I had a similar problem with the 64-bit architecture on the STEVAL-PCC009V2 board. I have not found any drivers for this OS, but i solved the problem by setting up a virtualisation OS with VMware.

Thanks for reply, Phil. Unfortunately, ST Support is not in a hurry to answer. I'll be happy to use it on Win-XP, but I'm afraid that dSPIN software doesn't support STEVAL-PCC009V1 board, but only STEVAL-PCC009V2. So, you emulated XP in order to install drivers? And software you used was downloaded from the link above?

my suggestion is to update the FW of the STEVAL-PCC009V2 with the latest one (Version 2.1). The new version

doesn’t need specific drivers (it uses standard HID drivers provided by the OS)

. So, it supports Win7 32 or 64bits.

I am attaching all info including the UM.

The HW of the STEVAL-PCC009V2 is not the same of the STEVAL-PCC009V1.

So, you can compare both schematics, look the differences, modify the STEVAL-PCC009V1 properly and then download the dedicated FW into modified STEVAL-PCC009V1 in order to use thededicated PC GUI and control theEVAL6470H

From my experience, the PCC009V1 does *not* work with the dspin evaluation software.  I ended up having to buy the PCC009V2 to get the software running.  I also used virtualization and ran the software with Win7 x32.
