What are the advantages and disadvantages of GPIO being assigned to AHB (instead of being assigned to APB)

What are the advantages and disadvantages of GPIO being assigned to AHB (instead of being assigned to APB)

Probably depends on the relative speeds of the buses, writing the APB takes 4 APB cycles as I recall.
