Cannot setup capital letters as PIN for Bluetooth pairing on SPBT3.0DP1 BT Mod

Hi,

We are evaluating the use of the BT Module SPBT3.0DP1 on one of our devices.

We are trying to configure the PIN to connect to a legacy device, that already has a predetermined PIN code that uses letters (lower and upper case)

Unfortunately, the current Firmware on the module cannot setup capital letters as PIN for Bluetooth pairing on SPBT3.0DP1 BT Mod. The current firmware converts all letters to lower case, and therefore, the PIN doesn't match and cannot connect to the legacy device. See commands and responses below.

at+ab build

AT-AB DataPackage FW Build 170925 - 1.1.337

at+ab config pin=1234

AT-AB ConfigOK

at+ab config pin

var6    PIN = 1234

at+ab config pin=lowercase

AT-AB ConfigOK

at+ab config pin

var6    PIN = lowercase

at+ab config pin=UPPERCASE

AT-AB ConfigOK

at+ab config pin

var6    PIN =

uppercase

at+ab config pin=MIXEDletters

AT-AB ConfigOK

at+ab config pin

var6    PIN =

mixedletters

at+ab reset

AT-AB ResetPending

AT-AB -CommandMode-

AT-AB BDAddress 0080e1ba01c2

at+ab config pin

var6    PIN = mixedletters

We have the following questions:

1. Do you have a newer firmware version for this module that fixes this issue?

2. If not, how long would it take to generate a new version of firmware to correct this issue?

3. Is there a workaround that could be used to program the correct PIN for BT pairing?

Regards,

Alex R.
