STM32 CubeMX Installation Problems Mac

Hi everyone,

I turn to you in complete despair. I thought I would start tonight with My Nucleo, but couldn't even get past the Installation of the CubeMX software. When I double click on the app (SetupSTM32CubeMX-4.20.1) or open it via left click and open, I get the message:

“SetupSTM32CubeMX-4.20.1 is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?'

as usual. But after clicking on open, nothing happens. I also tried to execute it via terminal as suggested by another post, but get:

Jean-Marcs-MacBook-Pro-2:A Joeme$ java -jar SetupSTM32CubeMX-4.20.1.app

Invalid or corrupt jarfile SetupSTM32CubeMX-4.20.1.app

Does someone know how to solve this? Thank you in advance!

the mac installer is broken and has been for many versions.

dont try to launch the .app, launch the .exe with the java -jar command.  you will also need to use sudo to do it because it installs in the applications folder

Hi,

Are you following the instructions in this

http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/user_manual/10/c5/1a/43/3a/70/43/7d/DM00104712.pdf/files/DM00104712.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00104712.pdf

manual to install STM32CubeMX in command-line mode and install the software requirements as Java Development Kit 1.7.0_45 ?

You should make sure that you have administrator rights.

You may want to update Java.

Also, try downloading again, your file may be corrupted.
