Using the HVLED001A with 100W and 150W

Hi there,

We need to design a led driver using the HVLED001A to supply a string of leds with 100w and 150w. According to datasheet we need to have two stages to supply this power but in eDesignSuite we have not found a way to do it.

Is there a way to use the eDesignSuite to calculate my driver for 100W and 150w with two stages?

Best regards,

Jair

Hello,

eDesignSuite doesn't allow to create automatically a design with two stages.

You can use eDesign in two steps: design a power supply with HVLED001A and then design the step-down stage using another DC/DC between those available in our tool.

Let me know if you need other details.

Patrizia

Hi Patrizia,

Thank you for reply.

Is there any reference design or application note how to use HVLED001A with

two stages?

When you are saying two stages I understand that the transformer has two

secundary stages to supply two led strings of 50W or 75W. We are going to

use one HVLED001A and one MOSFET to control the led corrent. Is that right?

How to design this transformer in this configuration?

Hi Jair,

For PFC section, pls use L6562A controller, see AN2761 for design procedure. In regards to flyback section based on HVLED001A pls use eDesignSuite.

Rogério
