Boards: STM32F0 Discovery, STM32F4 Discovery

OS: Windows 8.1 x64

GUI: PlatformIO

Tried the following multiple times with restarts, uninstalls:

  1. Downloading driver from
  2. http://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stsw-stm32102.html
  3.  (downloaded as en.stsw-stm32102)
  4. Installed VCP_V1.5.0_Setup_W8_x64_64bits.exe
  5. Plugged in device (shows up as STM32 STLink)
  6. Assign driver by 'picking from a list of device drivers'

PlatformIO cannot build on device. I gave it to my friend and he was able to flash both disco boards no problem in Linux.

[UPDATE] I used the driver from

https://my.st.com/content/my_st_com/en/products/development-tools/software-development-tools/stm32-software-development-tools/stm32-utilities/stsw-link009.license%3d1518543103787.html

 and both boards work no problem

@Community member

thanks for the update, now you are using the right driver for ST-Link HW, The VCP driver one is used for our USB devices example called VCP generated by CubeMX or in our HAL examples.

Cheers,
