Yet a misunderstanding in RM0008

Hello.

  I do Again misunderstand something in the manual RM0008.

  In Chapter 9 some port/pin settings are explained and the user can choose to have an input floating, with pull up or with pull Down. But I do not find where to choose between pull up and pull Down ???

As a hardware engineer it is extrem difficult for me to understand why any one would set an output bit to actually control the input bit behaviour. This is way over my head, that any one could such a stupid thing. But it actually is the case here. To control if the input pin is with Pull-Down or with Pull-Up the user actually have to set according bit in GPIOx_ODR.

It is said in chapter 9, and when one knows what to look after it is visually clear, but confusing. And for a start not clear at all...
