Question about I2C Fast Mode (1MBit/s)

Dear STM Community,

we want to use I2C in Fast Mode Plus (1MBit/s) with a STM32F401xB MCU. The datasheet points out: 'The I2C bus

frequency can be increased up to 1 MHz.' What are the conditions and requirements to implement the pointed out solution? Can I update my in field MCUs with that feature?

I'm looking forward to your answer.

Kind Regards

Oliver

Hello

oliver.richter

,

As noted in the

STM32F401

datasheet, please contact yourFAE or a local ST sales representative for more details about the complete solution related to I2C fast mode.

The I2C bus interface supports standard mode (up to 100 kHz) and fast mode (up to 400 kHz). The I2C bus frequency can be increased up to 1 MHz. For more details about the complete solution, please contact your local ST sales representative.

With Regards,

Imen

This is only the (supposed) master.

For a successful application, your slave devices and the bus layout must support this clock frequency as well.
