We are currently working on a device for healthcare implementation and had chosen the

STM32L4R9VI

to meet our specific needs. However, we are stuck on finding a suitable battery-charge-management solution that is also a QFN-type package . What would be the best compatible PMIC option to go with this MCU

? Any suggestions and recommendations are appreciated.

Yes, because the primary market (phones) want things which are smaller and denser.

Find the parts that meet the functional requirements, and talk to the vendor about packaging options.
