Maximum sample rate question

I'm using an ST7FLITE09 and was wondering what is the maximum frequency I can sample.

From the datasheet I see

tCONV = tSAMPLE + tHOLD

where tHOLD is 8 cycles. But how many cycles is tSAMPLE and how is the number of cycles related to processor clock speed? Is it 1/Fosc.

I am clocking at 8Mhz so what is the maximum frequency I can sample (assuming 2 x Fsampling rate = Fsample)

tSAMPLE is 4 1/fADC cycles and tHOLD is 8 cycles 1/fADC. For these details you can refer page 103 of Lite0 datasheet rev.2.5 which you can download from the net.
